About GCV SHRM

Greater Coosa Valley Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has been an affiliate chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 1998.  In 2025, we rebranded to the Greater Coosa Valley Chapter after being Greater Rome SHRM for 27 years.

We are here to serve the Human Resource professionals of the Greater Coosa Valley area encompassing all of Floyd County, as well as parts of Bartow, Gordon, Polk and other Northwest Georgia counties. We welcome members from Cherokee County Alabama and surrounding areas as well.

Greater Coosa Valley SHRM meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the second month of each quarter (February, May, August and November) at Georgia Northwestern Technical College in Rome, Georgia. 

In addition to quarterly meetings, the chapter also hosts seminars aimed at keeping HR professionals up to date on current issues such as employment law, compliance and changes in the industry, and social events for networking.  The meeting luncheons and seminars are included in the annual membership fee.

Greater Coosa Valley SHRM has alignined local membership with National SHRM membership as a part of the Dual Membership Program.
