Cell Phones for Soldiers Drives:

Members of the Greater Rome Society of Human Resource Management are conducting Cell Phones for Soldiers Drives at their individual organizations. This community project is a way of supporting and assisting our troops by helping them to keeping in contact with their families by calling home.

More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas. Cell Phone for Soldiers is an opportunity for all Americans to support our troops by donating old cell phones. Donated old cell phones are recycled and the proceeds are used to purchase calling cards for our troops so they can stay connected with their families.

Greater Rome SHRM originally conducted its Cell Phones for Soldiers Drives in the summer of 2008. During the first drive 140 pounds of cells phones and accessories were collected and donated to this cause.

Teri Warner, our Certification/Historian Chair is heading this project. Teri has set our 2010 goal to exceed our last cell phone drive. Your help is needed to reached this year’s goal. Please display collection boxes at your company and get the word out that “WE NEED YOUR OLD CELL PHONE!” For more information please contact Teri by email at TeWarner@Floyd.org. This project will conclude in honor of Veterans Day on November 11, 2010.
